Description

Grow some of the UK’s favourite winter-flowering plants – now 100% double, thanks to extensive work by Thompson & Morgan’s in-house plant breeding team. With unique colouring and a long flowering period, these robust hellebore plants will come back year after year, flowering in winter and early spring when there is usually little colour in the garden.

Ideal for perennial planting schemes, these hardy hellebores form neat clumps of evergreen foliage which remains attractive year round. Try planting this charming double-flowered hellebore mix on a gentle slope or bank where you can easily admire the unique colours and patterning of the blooms.

Bees love these hardy perennials too as they provide much-needed sustenance for these helpful pollinators during the cold months of winter and early spring.

Don’t forget that hellebores make stunning and unusual cut flowers and look fabulous in a vase – particularly during the gloomy days of winter!

Customers will receive one of each variety shown. Plants will flower from the following season.

Packs contain: 'Selene', 'Athena', 'Demeter', 'Artemis', 'Eris' and 'Hebe'.

How to Grow
Pot up hellebore plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant hellebores in neutral or alkaline soil, in dappled shade. Hellebores prefer a moist, humus rich, fertile soil that does not dry out in summer or sit waterlogged in winter. When growing hellebores on heavy clay or free draining gravel soils, add plenty of well rotted leaf mould or other organic matter to the soil prior to planting.
More Info
Mulch hellebores with well rotted manure or garden compost each spring. Hellebores resent disturbance after planting and may take some time to re-establish. However when clumps become overcrowded, lifting and dividing of hellebores should be undertaken immediately after flowering. Caution: Hellebore sap may irritate the skin and eyes. All parts are harmful if eaten.
