Sowing
Sow from late winter to early summer on the surface of John Innes seed compost. Make sure that the compost is moist but not wet and seal in a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 15-20 days at 21-24C (70-75F). Transplant when large enough to handle into 8cm (3in) pots. Grow on in a coldframe and later plant out 30-45cm (12-18in) apart into well drained soil in a sunny position.
