How to Grow
Helianthemum 'Bronze Carpet' is a low-growing rockrose forming a mat of small evergreen leaves, which in late spring and summer becomes studded with beautiful burnt orange five-petalled flowers with contrasting yellow stamens. Around an inch in diameter, the cheery blooms are perfect for adding a splash of colour to rockeries, containers and the edge of sunny borders and paths. Thriving on free-draining soils, this drought-tolerant shrub makes great ground cover for tricky dry sites. Height and spread: 30cm (12in).

Plant rock roses into moderately fertile, neutral or alkaline soil, in full sun. Helianthemum dislike wet ground, particularly during winter. Improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand prior to planting. Once established, rock roses can easily tolerate dry sandy soils.
More Info Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Once established, rock roses are relatively drought tolerant and require minimal maintenance. After flowering, prune helianthemum stems back to within 3cm (1”) of the previous year’s growth.
