Description

This dwarf evergreen shrub forms neat, cushiony mounds of small, linear foliage and masses of long-lasting, sunshine-yellow flowers. Halimium 'April Sun' is drought tolerant once established, low-maintenance and disease-free. The only attention it requires is a light trim after flowering to keep its dense, bushy form. This resilient and perfectly behaved shrub is an excellent choice for patio containers and makes superb ground cover or edging in rockeries and hot, dry borders. From spring to the end of summer, it bears an abundance of saucer-shaped, five-petalled, golden-yellow flowers which are a magnet for pollinators.

Height: 60cm (24in). Spread: 100cm (39in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Plant rock roses into moderately fertile, neutral or alkaline soil, in full sun. Halimium dislike wet ground, particularly during winter. Improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand prior to planting. Once established, rock roses can easily tolerate dry sandy soils.
More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Once established, rock roses are relatively drought tolerant and require minimal maintenance. After flowering, prune stems back to within 3cm (1”) of the previous year’s growth.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
