Description

10 years ago we wouldn’t have thought it possible to grow Gerberas outdoors all year round. The Garvinea® ‘Sweet’ series changes all that, with these reliably hardy varieties that will happily spend the winter in the herbaceous border! These exotic looking perennials form neat clumps of dark, glossy foliage that makes them particularly attractive in patio pots. The blooms begin in June and continue right through to October in a frenzy of colour that will stop you in your tracks. Spare a few for a vase indoors, as they make superb cut flowers. Height and spread: 45cm (18").

    Gerbera Garvinea® ‘Sweet’ Collection comprises:
  • Gerbera Garvinea® 'Sweet Glow' - Large, radiant blooms in the most daring shade of bright orange make this variety stand out from the crowd.
  • Gerbera Garvinea® 'Sweet Smile' - A sunny, golden-flowered beauty that will illuminate your borders and containers from June to October.
  • Gerbera Garvinea® 'Sweet Heart' - This charming variety boasts large, coral pink flowers that bring a tropical feel to patio pots and herbaceous borders.

1 x 3 litre potted gerbera 'Sweet Smile' plant (KB7139)
1 x 3 litre potted gerbera 'Sweet Glow' plant (KB7140)
1 x 3 litre potted gerbera 'Sweet Heart' plant (KB7141)
3 x 3 litre potted gerbera plants (KB7142)

How to Grow
Plant hardy gerberas outdoors in fertile, well drained soil in sheltered, sunny borders. When growing gerbera in patio containers, use a loam based compost such as John Innes No.2.
More Info
Feed and water gerbera regularly throughout the growing season. In milder parts of the UK, these Gerbera are hardy outdoors, if grown in a sheltered position and provided with winter protection during particularly cold periods. In particularly cold areas it is preferable to grow gerbera plants in containers that can be moved to a frost free position during winter.
