Description

This superb collection of hardy Fuchsias is perfect for filling gaps in mixed borders or planting in patio containers. Year after year they produce a profusion of dangling, pendant blooms throughout the summer. This hardy collection is a magnificent example of just how varied the Fuchsia family is - ranging from the dwarf variety ‘Tom Thumb’ through to the climbing variety ‘Lady Boothby’!

  • Fuchsia ‘Hardy Potted Collection’ comprises:
  • Fuchsia ‘Alice Hoffman’ - Bronze-green foliage contrasts beautifully with a mass of red and white, semi-double flowers. Height and spread: 60cm (24”).
  • Fuchsia ‘Delta Sarah’ - Snow white sepals contrast with frills of unusual semi-double blue petals. Height and spread: 90cm (36").
  • Fuchsia ‘Genii’- Magenta red sepals curl back to reveal dainty petals in a shade of deep indigo blue, contrasting with its glowing golden foliage. Height and spread: 90cm (36").
  • Fuchsia ‘Lady Boothby’ – A climbing Fuchsia bearing a multitude of pendulous magenta and deep purple flowers on tall red stems. Will require the support of a frame or trellis. Height: 3m (10'). Spread: 90cm (36").
  • Fuchsia ‘Tom Thumb’ – A dwarf variety which is covered with pink-red and purple flowers from June onwards. Height and spread: 30cm (12").
  • Fuchsia magellanica var. gracilis 'Versicolor' – Olive green foliage splashed with cream and pink variegation makes a bright backdrop for the slender scarlet and indigo flowers. Height: 1m (3’). Spread: 1.5m (5’).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Fuchsias in containers or borders, in any moist, well drained soil. Position in a sunny or semi shaded site which is protected from cold winds over winter.
More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, a bark or compost mulch applied to the base of fuchsia plants will help to protect hardy fuchsias from winter cold.
