Instantly recognisable as a cottage garden favourite, the foxglove has to be one of the most popular garden plants in a summer border. The tall spikes bearing a multitude of dazzling flowers not only provide your outdoor space with a bounty of stunning colour, it will also be an absolute favourite with the bees in the area too! Easy to grow in any garden, this collection of three varieties that we’ve put together are guaranteed to lift your spirits.

Collection comprises of:
Foxglove 'Sugar Plum' - with each individual bloom having a deep speckling inside adding depth to an already striking flower spike. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 45cm (18").
Foxglove 'Candy Mountain' - unusually upward facing pink blooms that allow you peek inside and see bees busy at work! Height: 140cm (56"). Spread: 45cm (18").
Foxglove purpurea 'Alba’ - pure white blooms that create a backdrop for other plants during the day but appear to almost glow as dusk falls, making it a magnet for pollinators that come out later in the day. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Flowering Months
Water foxglove plants regularly until fully established. Foxgloves self-seed freely. If seedlings are not wanted, deadhead stems of foxglove flowers as the blooms fade. In autumn, cut back old stems to encourage plenty of new side shoots. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, toxic if eaten.
Pot up digitalis plants and grow them on in frost free conditions for transplanting outdoors later on. When plants are well-grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in borders and containers in sun or partial shade. Although foxgloves prefer a fertile, moist soil, they will happily tolerate almost any soil except those that are excessively dry or waterlogged.
