Description
Weeping Figs are well branched, evergreen trees that make handsome house plants. Ficus benjamina 'Nicole' is a particularly attractive variety with glossy, variegated foliage that cloaks its gently weeping branches. Each olive green leaf is edged with an irregular creamy-yellow margin, reflecting the light to dazzling effect. Over time, this slow growing house plant will form a tall specimen shrub that will create a magnificent focal point in your home. Perfect for filling the corner of a brightly lit room. Height: 300cm (118"). Spread: 150cm (59").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

How to Grow
Although quite easy to grow, Ficus benjamina needs careful placement if it is to thrive. Weeping Figs dislike being moved and tend to shed their leaves if repositioned, so it is worth taking care to find the right spot, with plenty of room to grow, from the outset. Position in a bright room, away from cold draughts and radiators, with a constant temperature of between 16C (60F) and 24C (75F). Ideally Weeping Figs should receive a good balance of sun and shade, but avoid the direct glare of the sun.
More Info
Water regularly between spring and autumn using tepid rainwater where possible, and allowing the pot to drain well after each watering. In winter, reduce watering but do not allow the compost to dry out completely. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Weeping Fig appreciates a humid atmosphere - stand it on a tray filled with pebbles and water. As the water evaporates it will increase humidity around the plant. The oldest leaves of Ficus benjamina will naturally die off as the plant grows. These should be carefully removed, to maintain a tidy appearance. Any necessary pruning should be undertaken between in autumn or winter. Avoid moving Weeping Fig plants unless entirely necessary.
