Description

Boasting frilly petal packed double flowers, Dianthus ‘Sunflor Mix’ kick-starts the season with a fabulous profusion of scented, brightly coloured blooms from as early as May, then continues flowering throughout the summer and into autumn. With a neat and compact habit, these easy-to-grow hardy plants are perfect for pots as well as the front of the border or small spaces, where they’ll put on a brilliant show which lasts throughout the season. Drought tolerant and low maintenance with an undemanding nature, perfect if you’re looking for an easy splash of colour. This traditional plant is very well suited to cottage-style gardens. Height: 30cm (12”). Spread: 40cm (16”).

How to Grow
Pot up dianthus plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow dianthus on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant dianthus outdoors in moist, well drained soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost. Choose a position in full sun.
More Info
Feed and water regularly until dianthus plants are fully established. Deadhead faded dianthus flowers frequently to encourage more blooms to be produced and maintain plant vigour.
