An addition to my original posting. The plants have flowered with tall well formed spikes and the colours are fabulous, such an intense perple/deep blue. I have purchased some hardy perennial plugs from T & M and have received a dozen more plants that will be ready for next year.If the slugs and snails can be kept at bay I should be in for some spectacular display. If not another packet of seeds!
At last!!! 2012-07-31
I have never had much luck with delphiniums until now. They were sown in February in the greenhouse and all 8 seeds germinated. The plants are just starting to produce flower heads despite all the rain and the slugs and snails. For these I used slug pellets!. The plants are amazingly strong and I just hope the colours are to match, I will keep you posted.
