Delosperma ‘Ocean Sunset™ Violet’ is a stunning new Delosperma with vivid, shining violet flowers. This new Ocean series of dazzling ice plants boasts extremely large flowers. It will quickly spread to form carpets of drought tolerant, succulent foliage which will smother weeds and won’t sulk if you forget to water them!

Coming back year after year, Delosperma ‘Ocean Sunset™ Violet’ will put on an outstanding performance in pots, rock gardens, gravel gardens and borders. Delosperma Ocean series really earn their place in small spaces such as balconies and terraces where every inch is precious. All through summer they are covered in showy, starry flowers about 1 inch across (2.5cm) in vivid colours which will transport you to the sunny Mediterranean. Height : 6" (15cm), Spread: 12" (30cm).

How to Grow

Pot up ice plants in sharply drained, gritty compost and grow them on in frost free conditions. When they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into their final positions. Delosperma thrives in poor sandy, sharply drained soil, in a sunny, sheltered position. Add plenty of sharp grit to the soil prior to planting in order to improve drainage and prevent the roots from rotting.

Delosperma requires little maintenance. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings and feed every 3 weeks whilst in active growth.
