With our summers getting warmer, we all need plants which stand up to the heat, save on water and provide colour even during the hottest months. This Crocosmia Mix perfectly fits the bill – drought tolerant and low maintenance, it provides radiant orange, scarlet and golden blooms in late summer and early autumn when the garden can flag and look tired. In the earlier part of the summer, the sword-shaped foliage is useful in providing contrasting texture against mound-forming perennials. Maximum height: 75cm (29in). Spread: 10cm (4in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow

Grow Crocosmia in rich fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi shade. If necessary, improve soils by adding plenty of well rotted manure prior to planting. Plant Crocosmia corms at a depth of 10cm (4") and a distance of 10cm (4") apart.

Crocosmia requires little attention throughout the growing season. Remove old foliage and faded flower stems in autumn and apply a mulch of bark chips or well rotted compost to protect the corms over winter. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Crocosmia in spring to maintain their vigour.
