Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews Video
The quirky, spherical flower heads of Craspedia globosa rise like mustard-yellow, ping-pong balls on upright silvery stems. They make superb cut flowers for fresh or dried flower arrangements. Although perennial, this unusual Australian native is more often grown as an annual in the UK, making a fabulous novelty bedding plant. Its intriguing blooms add structure to sunny borders and rockeries or as part of a mixed container on the patio. The woolly, silvery foliage forms a basal rosette, which is well worth protecting over winter for a repeat display next year. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 30cm (12").

Craspedia thrives in hot, sunny conditions. Take care not to overwater plants throughout the growing season. Although generally grown as an annual, Craspedia may survive the winter if offered some protection from cold, wet weather.
Pot up Craspedia plug plants and grow them on in warm, frost free conditions until plants are well grown. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions over 7 top 10 days before transplanting into their final positions in beds, borders and containers. Grow Craspedia on any fertile, well drained soil in full sun.
