Like all Caryopteris, this French bred variety is spectacular in late summer and autumn when its intense blue flowers smother the tips of each stems. The nectar rich blooms are a magnet for pollinating insects, making this a great choice for wildlife areas. Caryopteris x clandonensis 'Grand Bleu' has a delightfully rounded habit that forms a neat deciduous shrub in mixed borders. Perfect for adding a splash of late season colour to invigorate fading borders. Height and spread: 100cm (39").

How to Grow

Grow Caryopteris plants in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. In very cold areas, where summers are cool and winter temperatures fall below -15C, plant near a warm, sunny wall.

In spring each year, trim back the previous year’s flowered stems to within 2 or 3 buds of the woody framework.
