Description
  • A stunning Canna Lily for growing on the patio in the UK
  • Add exotic colour to borders and containers
  • Red, yellow and bronze shades included in collection

Ten years in the making, the Cannova Series distinguishes itself from almost every other Canna on the market. Despite its tropical appearance, plants will be early to flower and will bloom reliably outdoors in the UK and Europe! With its bold leaves and showy flowers in shades of bronze, yellow and red, Canna 'Cannova Mixed' is a great choice for both containers and borders this summer. With their height and exotic colouring, these Canna Lilies look fabulous dotted in beds and in patio pots. Height: 75cm (30in) Spread: 30cm (12").

Canna 'Cannova Mixed' comprises:
  • Canna 'Cannova Red' - Striking red Canna Lily flowers are held above large, dark green leaves.
  • Canna 'Cannova Bronze' - Bronzed red Canna Lily flowers contrast beautifully with the dark green foliage.
  • Canna 'Cannova Yellow' - Vibrant yellow Canna Lily flowers provide a bright feature point in beds and containers.

Culinary note: Canna lily rhizomes can be eaten raw and have a taste similar to water chestnut, although they are sometimes bitter. They can also be boiled and baked, in the same way as a potato and have a similar texture and taste. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Canna plants in frost free conditions until all risk of frost has passed. In spring, Canna plants can be gradually acclimatised to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before planting them in borders, beds and containers. Grow Cannas in fertile, moist, well drained soil in a sheltered, sunny position.
More Info
Feed and water Canna plants freely throughout the summer. Faded Canna flowers should be deadheaded to promote more flowers. In late autumn, when the first frosts blacken the foliage, the rhizomes should be lifted and stored in barely moist peat, in frost free conditions. Rhizomes can be replanted in spring for another fabulous display.
