Description

A Swahili name with the meaning “hopeful and promising”, Calibrachoa ‘Uno Bakari’ glows like an African sunset, bringing colour and radiance to every corner of the garden. These sun-loving Calibrachoa lap up the heat, flowering early and lasting for months, forming very well-branching plants with a mounding and cascading habit that spills elegantly over the sides of containers, baskets and window boxes. The flowers come in an extraordinary colour spectrum - playing with red, orange, pink, and yellow in perfect harmony with the setting sun, radiating warmth and energy all summer long. The flowers maintain their luminous, stable colour throughout the season, require no dead-heading and are beneficial for bees and butterflies. Height and spread: 30cm (12in).

How to Grow
Pot up calibrachoa plants on delivery and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions for transplanting later on. Pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant that will produce more flowers later on. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise mini petunias to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before transplanting them outdoors into baskets, window boxes and containers in well-drained soil, in full sun. Alternatively, if space allows, plant plugs directly into flower pouches, baskets or containers to be moved outside after the last frost.
More Info
Feed and water calibrachoa plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. Take care not to over-water during cooler periods as this may cause the stems to rot. Regular deadheading of faded calibrachoa flowers will encourage further blooms to be produced throughout the summer.
