Description
This tall, slender Barberry is ideal for adding colour and architecture to borders. Berberis thunbergii f. atropurpurea 'Helmond Pillar' is grown for its deep purple foliage, which makes the ideal backdrop for the small yellow flowers in spring. The deciduous leaves turns to spectacular shades of red in autumn before falling to reveal stiffly upright, prickly, purple stems. This compact hardy shrub requires little maintenance and makes a useful addition to narrow borders or small gardens where space is at a premium. Height: 150cm (59"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
