Quite unlike any other Begonia, 'Cocoa Enchantment' has a refreshing, contemporary look about it. The jet-black foliage bears striking green veining and a rich burgundy underside, acting as the perfect canvas to show of the sugary-pink dangling blooms, which are produced in abundance from June through to the first hard frosts of autumn. A lax trailing habit lends well to hanging baskets, Flower Pouches® and patio containers. As with any other variety, these powerhouse begonia plants grow well in sun or shade, and stand up well to the British summer weather. As an added bonus, Begonia 'Coco Enchantment' requires little to no deadheading. Faded blooms simply fall from the plants to be replaced with fresh new blooms. Height: 50cm (20"). Spread: 30cm (12").

Feed and water plants frequently throughout the growing season taking care not to over-water, as this will cause new flower buds to drop. Deadhead the single female flowers to encourage more of the large double male flowers to be produced. At the end of the growing season the leaves and stems will yellow and fall off naturally. Reduce watering to prevent begonia plants from rotting at this stage. When the stems have all dropped away, dig out the tubers. Clean and dry them before storing them away in peat or sand at 7-15C (45-60F) until they can be replanted next February.
Begonia plugs can be planted straight into flower pouches but are best potted on first and grown on in bright, frost-free conditions if they are to be displayed in baskets, window boxes, pots and beds. Begonia plants can be transplanted into their final containers once they have increased in size. When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise begonia plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before placing them in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from strong winds.
