Description

Large, scarlet red, daisy blooms make this Marguerite stand out from the crowd! Argyranthemum 'GranDaisy Ruby' is an innovative hybrid between Argyranthemeum and Chrysanthemum coronarium. The result is a neat, bushy plant that flowers all season, starting early in the summer and continuing to autumn. As each bloom ages, it fades to pink, creating a pretty two-tone effect on each plant.

The Grandaisy series are particularly tolerant of hot or cold weather, easily coping with whatever the British summer throws at them! A great choice for a bold display in patio pots. They work equally well to create a focal point in sunny borders. Height and spread: 40cm (16").

1 x 2 litre potted argyranthemum plant (KB9869)

How to Grow
When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise argyranthemum plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Plant them out in well drained soil in sunny borders. Alternatively, grow Argyranthemum in patio containers using good quality compost such as John Innes No. 2.
More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded Argyranthemum flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, move container-grown plants to a bright frost free position and reduce watering. In spring, prune back stems to within an inch of the previous year’s growth. Border grown plants are unlikely to survive the winter outside in all but the mildest areas.
