Description
A new colour addition to the popular Summer Paradise Series of Peruvian Lilies which, unlike many varieties, show excellent hardiness in the garden. Alstroemeria ‘Summer Saint’ boasts a wealth of exotic-looking, mauve pink flowers above a dense clump of lustrous foliage. Flowering for 5 months solid, they produce more than enough blooms to light up your perennial border, with plenty to spare for summer bouquets. These hard-working perennials make a fabulous display in sunny borders and containers. Height: 70cm (27"). Spread: 50cm (19").

How to Grow
When all risk of frost has passed, plant Peruvian Lilies in a sunny or semi shaded position in fertile, moist, well drained soil. Alternatively, plant Alstroemeria in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
More Info
Throughout the growing season, water Peruvian lilies regularly and feed container grown plants each month. When picking alstroemeria pluck the flowers rather than cutting as plucking stimulates the rhizome encourage further growth. In autumn, cut back the old Alstroemeria flower stems and apply a dry mulch of chipped bark or straw to the base of the plant to protect it from cold winter weather. Alstroemeria prefers to be left undisturbed but can be divided in autumn or spring if clumps become overcrowded. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes.
