Flowering Months
Throughout the growing season, water Peruvian lilies regularly and feed container grown plants each month. When picking alstroemeria pluck the flowers rather than cutting as plucking stimulates the rhizome encourage further growth. In autumn, cut back the old Alstroemeria flower stems and apply a dry mulch of chipped bark or straw to the base of the plant to protect it from cold winter weather. Alstroemeria prefers to be left undisturbed but can be divided in autumn or spring if clumps become overcrowded.Caution: irritant to skin and eyes.
Pot up Alstroemeria plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When all risk of frost has passed, plant Peruvian Lilies in a sunny or semi shaded position in fertile, moist, well drained soil. Alternatively, plant Alstroemeria in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.

Fabulous plant 2015-11-11

I have had this plant for 2 years now and although it wasn't up to much the first year this year it is enormous and has been pumping out the flowers for 5 months. The leaf and flower combination is stunning and I would highly recommend it. Mine is growing in the ground in full sun at the front of the border in my 'hot' garden along with canna indica purpurea etc.and is clearly very happy.

Very pretty alstroemeria 2014-07-31

Have had this plant for a year now. Grew it in a pot on my patio for the first year, while I was planning my borders. Have planted it into the border this year and it is growing well and about to flower again. A couple of the stems are solid green rather than variegated - not sure if I should cut these off or just leave them. Very pleased with this plant.
