How to Grow
Caution: irritant to skin and eyes. Pot up Alstroemeria plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in frost free conditions. When Alstroemeria plugs are fully rooted into their pots and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant Peruvian Lilies outdoors in a sunny or semi shaded position in moist, well drained soil. Alternatively, grow Alstroemeria in containers using soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. When picking alstroemeria pluck the flowers rather than cutting as plucking stimulates the rhizome encourage further growth. In autumn, remove old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant. Lift and divide clumps of Peruvian Lily in autumn every third year to maintain their vigour.
