Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

The largest flower heads of any African Lily. Each globe of 'Regal Beauty' is almost 30cm (12") in diameter, and is made up of hundreds of inky-blue florets. Agapanthus is robust, easy to grow and long-lasting when planted in a mixed perennial border. African Lilies can also be grown in patio pots.

'Regal Beauty' has been selected for its enormous flower heads of almost a foot across, it's the perfect opportunity to show off to your gardening friends! Plants are a little less hardy than other Agapanthus, so may need some winter protection. Height: 1m (39"). Spread: 50cm (19").

Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
Plant in rich fertile, well drained soil, which is in a position of full sun. To grow Agapanthus plants in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .
