Description
Tall, straight stems are topped with rounded clusters of pale blue flowers in summer. Agapanthus 'Blue Umbrella' makes a majestic addition to borders, adding architecture and height to planting schemes. In sheltered borders the strappy foliage remains evergreen, providing useful, year-round ground cover. . African Lilies are easy to grow and require little maintenance. Height: 100cm (39"). Spread: 60cm (24").

1 x 9cm potted agapanthus plant (KC0858)

How to Grow
Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .
More Info
Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
