Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

Cimicifuga is an attractive border perennial with an exotic appearance. Actaea has a robust habit, and can fill a gap in the border with its fancy foliage and summer flower spikes, which are tall and imposing.

The flower spikes of Actaea are made up of many tiny florets, and these have a spicy fragrance. Cimicifuga is a long-lasting plant, surviving for many years, and is very useful for difficult situations, such as cold, wet corners of the garden. Height: 1m (39"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Easy for all

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. Sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this, so regretfully we are unable to ship live plants to the following areas: GY, HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Flowering Months
Young foliage may be susceptible to late frosts, so plant into a sheltered position. The tall flower stems of Baneberry will benefit from staking with plant supports as they grow. Leave faded Actaea flowers in place throughout autumn as the rounded seedpods provide interesting silhouettes in autumn borders. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Cimicifuga in spring.
Plant out Cimicifuga plants into a reliably moist, fertile, well-drained soil in semi or dappled shade.
