Description

Give your garden a dose of springtime magic and banish the winter gloom. Polyanthus 'Crescendo®' paints a rainbow of colour with its large blooms in bright colours making bold splashes in pots, window boxes and borders. The flowers are long-lasting, fragrant and produced in abundance upon strong stems which are held above neat rosettes of foliage. With excellent winter hardiness and superior disease resistance, you can expect repeat performances year after year. By far the best bedding polyanthus available.

Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Try the sweet tasting petals on top of salads or even pancakes, crystallise them for use as cake decorations too. For more details about edible flowers click here.

How to Grow
Pot up Polyanthus plants and grow them on for transplanting at a later date. Grow plug plants in bright, frost-free conditions, watering sparingly until they are fully rooted in. When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise polyanthus plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, prior to planting out in their final positions.
More Info
Polyanthus make colourful bedding plants, or grow them in containers and borders or in any fertile, moist, well drained soil. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade. During the winter, avoid over watering which may cause the plant to rot in cold conditions. Deadhead faded polyanthus flower stems throughout the flowering period to encourage more blooms to be produced.

For more information on how we send your plants please visit our Helpful Guide on plant sizes.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
