Brassica oleracea (Italica Group)Romanesco Broccoli is a particularly attractive vegetable with a taste and texture exceeding the finest Calabrese. Broccoli 'Romanesco' is widely grown in Northern Italy and created a great deal of interest when grown at the Scottish Horticultural Research Institute. The 'spears' can be snapped off individually or all together from . To really appreciate the flavour it should be steamed and served as individual heads, garnished with plenty of melted butter.
