Pot up plants and grow them on in frost free conditions. When mint plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. The herbs in this collection will grow best in full sun on any well drained soil. Add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil to improve its structure and fertility prior to planting. Mint can be extremely vigorous. Where space is limited, plant it in a container to restrict its spread. When growing herbs, ensure that they are planted within easy reach of the kitchen.
Feed and water mint plants regularly. Cut back plants in mid-summer to promote lots of fresh new growth. Divide overcrowded clumps mint in spring and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plants.
