Description

Midi sized Romaine with large crisp, dense hearts. Lettuce Pinokkio has good downy mildew tolerance.

Sowing Instructions

March to July, every 4 weeks for continuous crops. Sow seeds thinly in drills 13mm deep in rows 30cm apart, in well prepared soil in full sun.

Growing Instructions

Thin plants to 25cm apart and keep well watered for the most flavoursome hearts.

Aftercare

Hearts stand well without bolting (running to seed) if kept well watered. Plants adapt well to variable weather conditions. Just strip off outer leaves from older plants to reveal perfect hearts.

Kitchen Notes

Superb taste, an excellent leaf for green salads.
