Vivid sky blue flowers which are attractive to bees. Borage grows to a height of 75cm (30 inches).
Sow seeds March to May outdoors, directly into prepared soil in full sun. Sow seeds thinly 13mm deep, in rows 30cm apart.
Thin seedlings to 23cm apart and keep well watered.
The plants make a useful bulky addition to the compost heap at the end of the season.
The young leaves have a cucumber taste and are widely used in salads.
