Sowing Instructions

Sowing Time: Mid January to Mid March. Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a constant temperature of around 24-27C (75-80F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 15-60 days.

Growing Instructions

When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. When well grown, pot on into 15cm (6in) pots. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 45-60cm (18-24in) apart, or plant into baskets and containers. For best results, provide a rich, light, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade.
