A quick growing second early Nantes. Carrot Nigel F1 produces heavy crops of cylindrical, smooth-skinned, good flavoured, coreless bright orange roots, which resist cracking once washed. Stores well for winter use.
Sow March to June. Sow seeds thinly, 1cm (½in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart.
Thin seedlings when large enough to handle, allowing 2cm (1in) between roots.
Grow Spring Onion White Lisbon next to carrots as the smell helps deter Carrot Fly.
Prefers well drained, moist, rich conditions.
