Description

Thompson & Morgan's flower breeders have successfully bred the darkest shade of Dahlia from seed, answering the many requests from gardeners wishing to grow 'black' flowers. Black Beauty is a deep shade of red, which appears to be almost black in the sunshine. These unique, dark blooms are enhanced by a golden, central disc, making them stand out from their contrasting green foliage in borders and containers. Height: 45-60cm (18-24in).

Sowing Instructions

Sow seed on the surface of a good, free-draining, damp, seed or multipurpose complst and cover with a very fine sprinkling of vermiculite . Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag and place at a temperature of 20-25C (68-77F) until after germination which usually takes 7-21 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination.
