This stunning begonia produces many large 10-12cm (4 -5 inch) single hibiscus-like flowers, in a glowing colour combination of rich yellow, painted with scarlet and orange edges. Ideal for creating an explosion of color in borders or containers.
Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays 3 to 4 months before last frost. Do not cover the seed. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a constant temperature of around 24 to 27C (75 to 80F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 15 to 60 days.
For best results, provide a rich, light, well to drained soil in full sun or part shade.
Dust-like seeds. To open, hold over a sheet of white paper, cut along three sides of inner pack and carefully open out flat. Tap the packet gently to dislodge seed.
