Quick maturing, Carrot Mini Finger produces cylindrical, tender sweet orange roots.
Sow March to July. Sow seeds thinly, 1cm (½ inch) deep in drills 23-30cm (9-12 inches) apart in well-drained, fertile soil, which has been raked to a fine tilth. Keep moist until germination.
Thin out as soon as seedlings are large enough to handle, to 5cm (2 inches) apart. Later thinnings will be suitable for use in the kitchen.
Harvest from late summer into autumn. Water soil well before harvesting to aid extraction. The roots can be lifted and stored in layers of peat or sand in a frost-free place for winter use.
Carrots make a healthy, nutritious addition to your daily diet. They are high in Vitamin A and beta-carotene, and rich in antioxidants.
