Bright lemon yellow poppies which appear above fresh green fern like foliage in late spring. A charming plant which self seeds happily to make attractive colonies.
Sow in late winter/early spring on the surface of a free draining compost such as John Innes Seed Compost and cover the seed with a light sprinkling of coarse grit. Stand the container and seed in a cold frame until germination takes place, which can take up to 30 days.
When large enough to handle prick out into 8cm (3in) pots and return to the frame until mid/late spring when they can be planted out 30cm (12in) apart in ordinary garden soil in sun or part shade.
