Very large dark shiny purple-black, ruffled and fringed leaves. Ideal contrast in bedding or containers or use it as a herb in cooking.
Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 13-15C (55-60F). Sowing Depth: Sow in well drained compost, just covering the seed with compost, but do not exclude light, which is beneficial to germination. Sowing Time: March-April. Germination usually takes 14-30 days.
To dry, pick the leaves as the flowers begin to open.
