RHS Vegetable Collection : Tomato : Legend

Bush (Determinate). Tomato Legend is a remarkable tomato variety, in recent trials showing impressive blight tolerance in a garden situation. Legend was bred in the USA by Dr. Jim Baggett at Oregon State University. Both Thompson & Morgan and Dr Baggett believe Legend could be the answer to many gardeners' prayers to help overcome this most destructive disease. A heavy crop of large glossy red fruits of up to 180g (6oz) in weight are produced on plants with a determinate (bushy) habit. The fruits of Tomato Legend are a slightly flatter shape, and almost seedless, early ripening, and have excellent flavour. Best grown outdoors but also suitable for growing under glass. Sow seed indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last frost - harvest mid summer to autumn. Seeds are in the RHS Vegetable Collection.

Tomato : Brandywine (Heritage)

Cordon (Indeterminate). This variety dates back to 1885 and is regarded as one of the world's finest flavoured 'beefsteak' tomatoes ever offered. Tomato Brandywine yields a heavy crop of firm, clear skinned, light rosy pink fruits on plants with potato like leaves. (Lycopersicon esculentum).

Tomato : Country Taste F1 Hybrid

Indeterminate habit requires support and sideshooting.

Tomato Country Taste produces meaty, delicious fruits, which can easily attain weights over 227g (½lb) if trusses are trimmed (trim to allow 3 or 4 fruits to ripen per truss). Tomato Country Taste is early to set and ripen when grown under glass. Excellent tomato for exhibition and competitions - you could grow a record breaker!

Tomato : Roncardo F1 Hybrid

Cordon. Early, reliable to ripen, Tomato Roncardo is a large beefsteak tomato, producing large 120-140g (4-5oz) fruits with firm flesh. The flesh has a particularly high sugar content, adding more flavour than other beefsteak varieties.
