Begonia plugs can be planted straight into Flower Pouches™, but are best potted on first if to be displayed in baskets, window boxes, beds and pots. Begonia plants can be transplanted into their final containers once they have increased in size. When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before placing them in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from strong winds.
Feed and water begonia plants frequently throughout the growing season taking care not to over-water, as this will cause new begonia flower buds to drop. Deadhead faded begonia flowers regularly to extend the flowering period and encourage more blooms to be produced.

  1. My beautiful hanging basket of Begonias

    By Anne Nash 15-08-2012

I planted my plugs into a hanging basket when they had just started to flower so I could choose the colour of foliage and flower I alternated white/red and green/bronze for a stunning effect My finished basket won 3rd prize in the local Horticultural Society show. I am so pleased as this was the first time that I felt confident enough to display my baskets.. My plants looked healthy when they arrived and are giving a really good show of flowers

  3. Great value

    By Muriel O'Brien 22-05-2012

I had a wonderful display in containers right through to the December frosts, then they totally disappeared. Earlier this year several of them put out new shoots and by early April I had a few flowers! Yesterday while clearing the containers for this years plants I realised that a good half of the plants have survived & started to regrow. I now intend to replant them elsewhere and see what happens.

  4. Delightful Jewels

    By Moira Jenkins 11-05-2012

I ordered 72 plugs of these delightful little jewels. They arrived, by our faithful postman, in the slim box - which I opened with trepidation. However, inside the box where 72 perfect miniature plants in pristine condition. I popped them into trays and they took off faster than Concorde !!! They are now thriving in the ground. Delightful.
