Potato : Mayan Gold

Exclusive

Bred jointly by Greenvale AP and SCRI. Has its roots in the Andean foothills of Peru and is a different type of potato of the phureja type. Mayan Gold is the first successful introduction of this type and has proven exceptionally popular with chefs and the restaurant trade. Yellow skinned, long, oval, tubers with a deeper golden flesh of a unique nutty flavour and an extremely creamy but dry texture. Fantastic for chips and roasting for the crispy texture and fluffy centres. Superb flavour when cooked in its skin for all cooking uses except boiling (as tubers will quickly go mushy), also makes a stunning pie topping.

Potato : Orla

Outstanding foliage and tuber blight resistance. Creamy skinned, pale yellow fleshed round/oval tubers. Can also be grown as a Second Early and Early Maincrop from slightly later planting as tubers bulk up well.

Organic Orla has Organic Certification approved by The Soil Association.

Potato : Pentland Dell

Long oval white tubers with creamy white flesh. Versatile but particularly excellent chipper, especially long or large chips.

Shows good slug resistance and is drought resistant.

Potato : Romano

Also used as an Early Maincrop. Round, red skinned with creamy white flesh and a versatile all rounder in the kitchen.

Shows very good slug and blight resistance.

Potato : Sarpo Axona

T&M Exclusive

Sister line to the phenomenally popular Sarpo Mira introduced in 2005. Very similar in all respects, particularly with outstanding blight resistance, but the tubers are more regular in shape and the flesh is slightly more creamy.

Superb flavour for all culinary uses.

Potato : Ulster Chieftain

White skinned oval tubers with moist, firm creamy white flesh. Its slug resistance was highlighted in 1960's Ministry trials and is once again becoming a popular variety.

Heavy cropper.

A round/oval white skinned and cream fleshed variety. Has double eelworm and blight resistance so a real bonus to the gardener.

Exceptional yields. Purple flowers.

Potato : Winston Exhibitor Grade

Large tubers with even shape and size. Creamy moist flesh of excellent flavour. Flesh does not discolour on cooking.

Exhibitor varieties are subject to availability. We will use, wherever possible, a minimum size of 45mm as exhibitor grade.
