Heirloom from Moldova region. Vigorous dark green broad leaves, a 'hardneck' so produces a flower stem which can be removed to encourage larger bulbs, which produce 5-8 large, fat cloves. A warm garlic with real persistence and amazing aroma, making the perfect garlic bread. Harvest from June. English production.

Not a true garlic but a stem leek which produces massive bulbs approximately 10cm (4 inches) in diameter. The cloves are also much larger than conventional garlic with a milder taste making it suitable for a wide choice of culinary uses, especially roasting.
