Jewel-like flowers in opulent ruby-red emanate a subtle charm in cottage garden borders. Their unusual and mysterious blooms, almost like pincushions, are carried aloft robust, slender stems. Even when the blooms have lost their colour, they hold their form long into the autumn, and look especially attractive on frosty mornings.
