Gooseberry : Invicta

Fruit

  • Crops in : Late May onwards

Description

One of the heaviest cropping varieties available producing almost twice as much fruit as other varieties. The flavoursome green fruits stay firm and retain their shape when cooked, making the best pies and preserves you’ve ever tasted.

Excellent mildew resistance, ready to harvest from late May onwards.

Our established 2 year old bare rooted plants are supplied ready pruned, with a 15cm (6 inch) leg and around five, 23cm (9 inch) stems, that once planted will quickly establish. We have found that from the second season each bush will produce over 3kg (over 6lb) of fruit and will keep on producing this amount for many years to come.

Bred in Great Britain.

Growing Instructions

For best results plant gooseberries 1.5m (5 feet) apart with 1.8m (6 feet) between rows in an open sunny position, they can also tolerate partial shade. Prefers well drained, moisture retentive soil that has plenty of well rotted organic matter added to it.
