Strawberry 'Malwina' (Late Season) - Part of the Alan Titchmarsh Collection

Fragaria x ananassa

  • NEW in 2012
  • The sweetest strawberry ever!

The talk of the gardening press at our 2011 Press Day, Strawberry ‘Malwina’ wowed journalists with its exceptional sweet taste and dark red colouring. Supermarkets don’t stock ‘Malwina’, aware that customers are only interested in bright red strawberries; however, we believe their loss is your gain! Grow this fabulous tasting strawberry at home and you’ll be enjoying the wonderful, late-ripening berries well into August when most other varieties have stopped fruiting. Height: 20cm (8”). Spread: 30cm (12”).

Strawberry 'Frau Mieze Schindler' (Mid Season)

Fragaria x ananassa

Strawberry ‘Frau Mieze Schindler’ is the most popular variety across much of Europe for its incredible sweet and succulent flavour that is out of this world! The fruits are so soft and delicious that they are unsuitable for transport, so this variety has never been available in the supermarkets.

The magic component is methyl anthranilate which provides that sumptuous, ‘fruits of the forest’, candy-store flavour. Rigorous modern breeding wiped out this magic component years ago, as breeders were striving for perfect-looking, supermarket fruits, which ended up having little or no flavour. But these strawberries are packed with full of it!

So why not enjoy a unique experience by growing and eating the best gourmet strawberries that you’ve ever tasted. Strawberry ‘Frau Mieze Schindler’ can be harvested throughout June and July.

For bumper crops, these strawberry plants best grown alongside another strawberry variety to ensure good cross pollination. Pollinating plants of Strawberry 'Cambridge Favourite' are included within this pack. Height: 20cm (8"). Spread: 30cm (12").
