Customer RatingWhen seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant and grow on in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart in a sunny spot on light well drained soil. For pot plants, transplant the seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots, grow cool, well ventilated and give plenty of light, but shade from direct sun.
Our Tip: After planting into their baskets grow in warm conditions, and when established give them a good spray from a watering can. The weight will produce a perfect cascading habit.

In the past I have always bought petunia plants. The recession has meant making economies, so I thought I'd try them from seed this year, and chose these Super Cascade Improved hypbrids, but didn't really expect to succeed. To my astonishment they germinated really fast, have been amazingly simple to grow on, remarkably tough - withstanding extreme conditions in the exposed West Highlands - and started flowering in late June. The flowers are huge and very attractive. So now I've got far more petunias than ever before, and for a fraction of the cost. I shall be growing them from seed from now on. Highly recommended!
