  1. Great for my daisy border.

    By Dinah Dayus 25-12-2015

I am creating a border dedicated to daisy form flowers. These will look great in front of my perennial sunflowers and my Esther Reeds. I am being careful to create a smooth slope down to pink and red lawn daisies at the front. These seeds germinated quickly on my window sill, with an excellent germination rate. They put on good growth during there first season, and are showing no signs yet of being cut back by the late December weather, so I am confident they will make hardy plants. I had so many germinate that I think I will use some as stand alone plants in the half barrel next to my front doorway, perhaps I may surrond them with some of the more dwarf examples of the species, or some echinachia of a complimentary colour. I imagine that they would look very good in any boarder, so I may dot any that are left around the general boarders in the front garden. It's great to have enough plants to get creative, these seeds have definitely proved to be great value for money!

  2. rudbeckia goldsturm

A brilliant plant that self seeds, it is stunning at the rear of borders, with bright yellow flowers. Don't be tempted to cut of the seed heads if you want them to self seed.
