Customer RatingWhen large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 23-30cm (9-12in) apart. For best results, provide any ordinary well-drained soil in full sun.
Geranium maderense may behave as a biennial, flowering in the second year from sowing, or may be more long-lived as a perennial. This species needs protection so should be kept frost-free for the winter months or grown in a greenhouse or conservatory.

All seeds germinated in under a month ( they were sown February2012). the plants are now just over 6" high. The foliage is already looking very exotic, it looks more interesting than the photograph. It will be interesting when the plants are fully grown. Watch this space!
