Hardy Annual Seeds


Hardy annuals can be sown directly into their flowering positions in the spring and will tolerate a certain amount of cold. Well-known flowers such as sweet peas, poppies, stocks and sunflowers fall under this category, as do some of the more unusual flowers - gomphocarpus & ratibida for example.

Cabbage 'Northern Lights Mixed' F1 Hybrid (Flowering)

Brassica oleracea (Acephala Group), Ornamental Cabbage, Ornamental Kale

 Large ornamental plants with frilled edges and heart lifting colours for months. Cabbage Flowering Northern Lights Mixed is superb in containers. Recommended for charm and impact. Leaves colour when night temperatures fall to 50F/10C.

Companion planting: Try growing ornamental cabbages with Nasturtiums to draw cabbage white butterflies away from the leaves, and mint to help deter flea beetles.
