Pansy 'Petite Mixed' F1 Hybrid

Viola x wittrockiana

Hardy Perennial

 Customer Rating
T&M believe that this is The Best Winter Flowering Pansy! Earlier and more floriferous than many old favourites, with the widest colour spectrum imaginable. Very dwarf, compact plants, flowering over a long period in borders and containers. Height: 15-23cm (6-9in).

Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. The crystallised petals are great decorations for cakes and cookies, or they can be added straight to green salads for an injection of colour. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Sow late winter/spring or late summer. Sow 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in good seed compost excluding light as darkness is beneficial. Germination usually takes 14-21 days at 19-24C (65-75F). Keep the soil just moist and avoid high temperatures which will prevent germination.

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant and grow cool. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 23-30cm (9-12in) apart in most soils, sun or part shade.

Summer sowings should be moved to a coldframe and planted out in early spring.

Reviews
  1. Lovely colours

These are the most successful pansies we have grown. They germinated well and have been strong, healthy plants from the beginning. The colours are really gorgeous, and make a lovely mixture.
