Rose 'Charisma'

Hardy Shrub

  • The ultimate Rose for colour and fragrance!
  • Modern breeding for strong growth, disease resistance, long flowering and neat habit

Rose varieties come and go, but expect Rose 'Charisma' to be around for many years to come. This hardy rose has it all, strong growth, high disease resistance, four months continuous flowering and a neat, rounded habit to boot!

You'll be hard pushed to find a better depth of colour and fragrance when it comes to planting roses. Rose 'Charisma' offers sumptuously rich red blooms that fade to a deep pink, each exuding a heady perfume from bud burst to petal fall. If you only have room for one rose plant in your garden, make sure it is 'Charisma', for guaranteed garden performance, colour and scent. Height and Spread: 80cm (32").

Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Rosehips and petals can be used in making syrups and the petals will add flavour to cold drinks or fruit dishes. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In late summer, begin pruning hybrid musk roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches. Then reduce the stems by ⅔. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
